The owner says

South Ayrshire Stalking. Dalton formed South Ayrshire Stalking in 2002 and along with his wife, Anne, they provide deer stalking opportunities and a high standard of accommodation from their home, a converted barn and cottage at “Garryloop”, in South Ayrshire, in the South West of Scotland. Chris is a highly experienced stalker, is an assessor and approved witness for the deer stalking certificates, and is one of the UK trophy measurer, he is also a sporting journalist and has a regular column in Sporting Rifle magazine. He is assisted by a small team of dedicated and highly trained stalkers. Together they provide courses for novices along with accompanied deer stalking and all aspects of deer management training and assessment for the Deer Management qualifications DSC 1 & DSC 2. Specializing in individually tailored stalking packages they can also provide other sporting opportunities including excellent woodcock, duck shooting and fishing.

Chris, although primarily operating in South Ayrshire in the South West of Scotland also has estates in Argyll , Perthshire and the Angus Glens and so can offer stalking throughout Scotland including open hill red deer. All of these locations are very easily accessible for the main airports of Glasgow and Edinburgh and in most cases if you are driving via hire car you will be less than 2 hours away, there are also very good rail links.

This is the complete stalking experience, all you need do is arrive and relax in very comfortable and homely accommodation and experience some of the truly remote and wild areas of this iconic sporting destination.

At South Ayrshire Stalking we control and manage the deer population over many thousands of acres extending across a large area of the South West of Scotland up to the edge of the Galloway hills. We are surrounded by an area of renowned natural beauty with rolling hills and landscaped forests of mixed conifer and broadleaf to moorland edge. This gives our guests the opportunity to experience deer stalking over a wide variety of terrain from conifer forest to moorland edge.

We have a good population of Roe and Red deer; the latter attaining much larger weights than their hill counterparts. We are producing Roe bucks of medal class each year.

For guests who particularly want to experience red deer stalking we have access to large areas of Central Scotland and the Highlands, we also have limited access to Sika Stalking.

Accompanied stalking/training courses
Both of our stalkers are approved witness for the Deer Stalking Certificate (DSC ) Level 2, so we are able to offer stalking for the complete novice through to the experienced stalker wanting accompanied outings, we also train and assess for DSC Level 1.

Syndicate stalking
Occasionally we are able to offer syndicate rifle vacancies for the more experienced stalker, this is done on an annual basis where you will have access to your own stalking ground.

Mixed packages
We also offer and can arrange mixed sporting package and stalking of other deer species across Scotland and South of the Border, please contact us with your requirements.

'I have waited 25 years to stalk deer, and could not have chosen a nicer place & nicer people to be with. Thank you for a fantastic weekend – I am sure we will be back'.
