With their size they are quick to slip out of focus, one of the few advantages of their small stature. Damara Dik Dik have many predators including hawks, snakes, big cats and baboons, kicking it into high gear and running at speeds over 65 km/hr when they are under attack. Prior attack, the Damara Dik Dik can make a particular sound with their nasal cavity to warn other animals, offspring, or their partner Dik Dik of a threat; a must-witness in Dik Dik country. Dik Dik hunts are often combined with other game but their meat is well worth the time stalking them. You won't need to pack your rhino gear to take down this quarry species, light ammo or by bow makes this trip a successful one. Dik-Dik also known as Damara Dik Dik is one of the smallest antelope with a prolonged nose and brown big eyes. The skin colour of the damara depends upon the habitat they reside in. Damara dik dik or simply dik dik has five sub-species, they are:
