Las Barracas

The owner says

The Hunting Estate “Las Barracas situated between Calviá and Andratx, comprise almost 1.000 hectares and offers magnificent views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Tramuntana mountains. The area’s unique terrain, climate and vegetation make it the ideal location for driven and walked-up partridge shooting between September and the following spring.
Our traditional driven partridge shoots are organized for groups of up to 10 guns, with an anticipated bag of 500 partridges per day over 5 drives. Each gun is provided with their own loader (double guns are used) and a “secretario”. The beaters team will ensure that an average of 4,000 partridges fly over the pegs each day, with varying levels of difficulty, height and speed, in line with the group’s ability. The Duck shooting is organized at 3 ponds at the Estate offering some very nice shoots at fast and high birds. The excellent team of professional gamekeepers, beaters, loaders, kitchen staff, etc. allow us to guarantee our guests unforgettable shooting days.
Our famous “tapas” and light refreshments served during the shoot, and a superb meal in the main house at the end of the day (worthy of a luxury restaurant), are the perfect culmination to this unforgettable shooting experience. The Lodge provides a huge collection of almost 30 different double or side by side shotguns in all calibers and sizes – so there is no need to bring your gun to Mallorca.

About

Location: “Las Barracas” is located in the southwest of Mallorca, near Calviá and has magnificent views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Tramuntana mountains. It is also just a quick 20-minute drive from Palma’s old town and its international airport. Andratx, Port Adriano and Puerto Portals are all located less than 10 km away from the estate.

About your host at Las Barracas: Carlos Rúa, Founder. Carlos Rúa & “Diana Campo”, with over 30 years of experience organizing traditional partridge shoots in Spain, together with Octavio Pérez-Andujar & “El Gargantón” – with extensive international hunting experience, and Manuel Rossiñol Fuster, owner of these long-established family estates in Mallorca, identified and focused the international demand for high-quality partridge shooting in the Balearic Islands. In 2010 they joined forces to set up this unique “Las Barracas” shooting estate. Our estate is accessed via Exit 20 “Peguera-La Romana” on the Palma-Andratx motorway. Once you go past the first roundabout and after 100 m on the right-hand side of the road, you will see a private road with a signpost “Las Barracas”.
