Jim River Guide Service

The owner says

Welcome to Jim River Guide Service. When booking a hunt, it is best to use the same rule of thumb as when you buy a scope. Buy the best you can afford. The sweetness of low price is short lived but the bitterness of dealing with a poor guide lasts a lifetime. I personally guide all of my clients. Before you book a hunt with me, I give you the opportunity to talk to EVERY client that I guided the previous season by supplying you with the names and phone numbers of ALL my clients from the previous season. Call them and ask them hard questions. By listening to their answers, you will see the clear value my business has over my competition. Because I provide the names of ALL my clients, you know YOUR NAME will be going on the list next season so you should have comfort in knowing I have a vested interest in your success. As the owner of the business, you should also know that I have a greater interest in your success than if I was simply putting you out with a hired hand like the other outfitters do. In a perfect world, everybody would care about the business as much as the owner. But we don't live in a perfect world.

About

Your host at Jim River Guide Service: Willie Dvorak, Owner and Master Guide.

Hunting and fishing experience at Jim River Guide Service: Alaska offers great hunting adventures for people who are looking to experience the last Great Frontier. Jim River Guide Service will put you in remote hunting areas accessible only by bush plane. This is the best way to find the excellent trophies and the most animals. I take a very small number of clients. This means I only have to find a very small number of excellent trophies each year. It also means you will be part of a very small number of clients that will trust me to arrange their Alaska hunt. I take pride in providing each hunter the best personal attention. We specialize in spike camp hunts. These hunts have advantages over base camp or river camp hunts. The first advantage is I put you down where the game is. You get to camp very near where the game is. In most instances, we can see game right from our tents. Many hours of preseason scouting help me determine where I will put you. This greatly increases your chances of success. If we want to move after hunting an area for a few days, we can do so. Moving is seldom needed but it should be comforting to know that I can make it happen. My main goal is to give you chances at beautiful trophies. I operate my hunting camps as a professional. As a Registered Alaska Guide, I am aware of and understand the hunting regulations set up by the state of Alaska and the Alaska Board of Game. You can trust me to follow the regulations to the letter. Please don’t ask me to violate any of the regulations. I feel if an outfitter is willing to cheat the state of Alaska by committing game violations, he would not hesitate to cheat a client. You can feel comforted knowing that my business is done “above board”. We specialize in guided black bear, brown bear, moose and caribou hunts. Click here for quick link country guide.

Alaska fishing is one of the most exciting things to do in Alaska. A remote Alaska fishing trip is one of the trips nearly every sportsman in the world has dreamed of. Your dreams of flying into a remote area of Alaska to fish for several days with your friends or family is about to become a reality. Whether you are a fly fisherman or you like to use spinning tackle, you will get your fill of fishing on this trip. Plan to fish a lot and plan to get an eyeful of some of the most spectacular mountains, glaciers, and landscapes in the world. The best fishing takes place in August. June through September also offer great fishing. It seems that most people are most interested in having fishing for salmon, however, and that means we should probably set you up to fish in August. There are five types of salmon that inhabit Alaska waters. The most popular are the silvers (Coho). Reds (Sockeye), kings (Chinook), chum (Dog) and humpy (pink) also make their runs up the many rivers that drain the awesome mountains of Alaska's interior as they make their way up from the ocean to spawn and then die.
