"Sporting a body of some of the most colorful and creative plumage of all upland birds, a flushed rooster pheasant is an unforgettable, breathtaking sight to witness."
The beloved sport of driven birds originated in the United Kingdom but many walk up/rough shooting opportunities are found throughout the country. The United Kingdom houses one of the best pheasant shoots in the world and remains on top of every international pheasant enthusiast's bucket list. The English countryside together with the efforts of knowledgeable game keepers and landowners makes for the perfect habitat for pheasant and other ground nesting birds. Prepare yourself for clouds filled with high flying pheasants and/or nice walk up shooting with trained gun dogs. Be sure to bring enough cartridges, as you will need them!
You will need a double barrel, over-under or side-by-side shotgun, depending on the type of shooting (roigh shooting or driven birds) and the shooter’s preference. 12, 16, 20, 28 and even .410 gauge shotguns are used for pheasant shooting in the United Kingdom.
