Your host at Alpine Creek Lodge: Claude Bondy, Guide. Alpine Creek Lodge is located on the Denali Highway with it's gorgeous scenery, the wildlife and fresh air, it's how Alaska was meant to be seen! We offer lodging with activities to explore old glacier valleys! Come on by for ATV tours, fishing, hiking and so much more!
Hunting and Fishing experience at Alpine Creek Lodge: Grizzly season is open year-round in our unit. The average bear is 8-8.5’ giving you an 85% chance, and higher, to obtain a trophy for yourself! The most opportune time is when the bears first step out of their dens in late April, through May. These spring hunts are recommended as their hides are prime! For Residents who want to hunt for Grizzly bears all you need is to come up and hunt your bear with a hunting license. We also offer sheep, caribou and moose and ptarmigan hunts. Your ptarmigan hunt at Alpine Creek Lodge is best anytime in the open season period. Ptarmigan season is from Aug 10-March 31. The limit on these Alaskan birds is 10 per day! We have a huge number of Willow Ptarmigan, with good numbers of the rarer White Tailed Ptarmigan and Rock Ptarmigan. This Alaskan State Bird is a fun bird to hunt. We have big numbers in our area, you’ll be doing a lot of shooting! These birds are exceptionally tasty. Click here for quick link country guide.
Fishing is pristine in the majestic Clearwater mountain range! Lake and streams nestled between two mountains have great fishing holes without the crowds. There are places to fish for Trophy Arctic Grayling either by fly fishing and/or spin fishing. Grayling season is from June 1-Sept 15. Peak season is in July. Other plentiful fish are Lake trout and Burbot. Come on out and enjoy a day of endless fishing! Fish until you can’t fish any longer and be the only one on the lake or stream.
