The Domaine de Coyolles is a sanctuary dedicated to fly-fishing. It is located in Aisne region, an hour from Paris. Here, you will find a preserved nature at the source of the Automn river and the comfort of the old water mill of Coyolles. This is the opportunity to take time for yourself, with family or friends. Domaine de Coyolles is very happy to welcome you soon!
The 7 hectares domain is made up of 5 lakes. The sources of the Autumn River (tributary of the Oise) supply the area with fresh water, allowing sight fishing most of the time. The access to fly fishing is reserved to maximum 15 fishermen per day to manage fishing pressure and allow peaceful moments for each participant. The domain offers a wide possibility of fly fishing techniques, such as open areas accessible to beginners or diversified false rivers and islands that will delight the most experienced fishermen.
Le Domaine de Coyolles has a lovely old building that was the watermill of Coyolles (a description of the watermill appears in a book by Alexandre Dumas, Le meneur de loup, 1857). The building has the charm and warmth of the old houses.
You will find all the comforts of a fishing lodge: rooms for you to rest and to restore, a bar and restaurant, a corner shop with flies and fly fishing equipment, large fishing nets (loaned on request), and other conveniences.

Items from "La Maison de la Mouche Paris": Scientific Anglers lines, Reels Ross and Lamson Waterworks, Fishing nets, ready-to-go kits for trout and pike fishing, as well as kits, specifically built for children.
A typical day at Le Domaine de Coyolles: Four lakes are dedicated to salmonids: fario trouts, brook trouts and rainbow trouts. Fishes are introduced very frequently (several times a month). The concentration of macro-invertebrate insects in the lakes provides trouts with natural food. We recommend lightweight equipment, comparable to that used on rivers. A 9-feet 5/6-weight fishing rod is suitable. Fishing is practiced from the shore, simple barbless hooks, fly fishing net only, 2 flies maximum. Fly fishing nets are lent on request. Imitations of fish and salmon eggs are prohibited: streamers, boobies, blobs.
One lake called "The Ring", is dedicated to Pike fly fishing only. The series of these five lakes offers 500m of banks to be prospected for an average depth of 2m.

Season: Sep 1 - Jun 30
Permits: A fishing permit is not needed for private lakes in France. The fishing is no kill. Simple, barbless hooks are mandatory. Plastic lures are prohibited.
Weather: Coyolles benefits from a micro climate, because of its position between 2 forests, the rainfall is far below the weather forecast. Please feel free to call us if you have any doubt.
What to wear: Prefer a 9-feet 9-weight fishing rod with floating line. As for flies, drake patterns are best for Spring. Small Pale Morning Duns and midges also fish well all season long. Soft hackle patterns are effective for imitating caddis flies that live in the Automn river as well. September and early October are when terrestrials are best, and hoppers, ants, and beetles are the order of the day.
