About your host at Glacier Anglers: Onno Wieringa and Darwon Stoneman, Owners. In 1976, Onno Wieringa and Darwon Stoneman had a wild idea: take their two rafts and one van and start a whitewater rafting company. People thought they were all wet – but the business grew rapidly. Today, Darwon and Terri Stoneman along with their daughter and son-in-law Cassie and Jeff Baldelli provide rafting and fishing on some of Montana’s most acclaimed rivers, plus access to the legendary Glacier National Park and Great Bear Wilderness. We’re the longest running river outfitter in Montana and the only one in the village of West Glacier. Over 500,000 visitors have enjoyed our whitewater rafting, fly fishing, and horseback riding trips, our restful log cabins, and our 100% natural Montana hospitality. In short, this is one terrific vacation spot – even if you do get wet.
Fishing experience at Glacier Anglers: Montana is legendary for its outstanding fly fishing and the waters that surround Glacier National Park are no exception. At least once, you should treat yourself to their extraordinary fly fishing adventure while visiting Glacier National Park. We offer daily and multi-day guided trips on the beautiful North and Middle Fork of the Flathead River, and multi-day trips into the Great Bear Wilderness to fish the acclaimed Upper Middle Fork. This is prime habitat for eager, native Westslope cutthroat trout and rainbow trout that you catch and release. Bring your own gear or let us supply everything you need. A Montana fishing license is required for all fishing trips with the exception of private pond fishing. Purchase your license at Glacier Outdoor Center or purchase online at Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks. If you’re a beginner, we provide instruction on private ponds where no Montana fishing license is required. One lesson and you may be hooked on fly fishing for life (if you’re lucky).
