The owner says

Fishing Breaks has gathered the largest and most extensive portfolio of the very best chalkstream fishing England has to offer. From the wild streams of Dorset, to the famous River Test and the little known becks of East Yorkshire.

Fishing Breaks founder, Simon Cooer has fished each and every one, visiting the dedicated fishing owners and river keepers who care for these unique rivers that barely exist outside the Britain.

Fishing Breaks set out to make the best beats accessible and bring a new level of professionalism to the whole business, but never losing sight of the fact that the chalkstreams are some of the most precious and unique trout fishing rivers in the world. By building relationships with the river owners Fishing Breaks has gained their trust to sell day rods on their behalf, the income helping to make the rivers pay their way.

For anglers Fishing Breaks knows that buying a day of fishing should be pleasure rather than a chore, with the prospect of that day something to look forward to.

Fishing guides
A fishing guide is a useful addition for any fishing trip providing advice, tackle, flies and local transportation. All our Guides are true chalkstream experts, with a strong background in fly fishing tuition – indeed they all have nationally recognised qualifications. Whats more they are engaging and informative companions on the riverbank, blending information, hints and anecdotes to help you get the best from the day. They will know the best local pub for lunch, transport you from hotel to river if required and carry a full stock of flies, tippet material and chalkstream outfits.

The Guides are available for hire by the day; the daily fee covers all the extras, including flies. All we ask is that you tip the Guide at the end of the day if everything has been to your satisfaction. Sharing a Guide amongst your party is absolutely fine; we recommend a ratio of one Guide to two fishermen.

Time is precious, use it fishing.

I fished the Kennet, and fulfilled a life ambition: The dry fly fishing, so early in the season, was utterly stunning - Wild brown trout and stocked fish, a'plenty. The quality of the guide and the... Read more
