Welcome to Alaska Peak and Seas. Every year we offer tours on two areas: Anan Wildlife and Stikine River.Anan drainage is home to both brown and black bears. We are able to view BOTH species fishing within close proximity of one another. Spectacular scenery is unavoidable during this cruise to go watch bears, seals, & eagles fishing so have your cameras ready. An incredibly scenic & exhilarating jet boat ride up the Stikine! The river delta is a part of this ecosystem that supports many types of migratory waterfowl, sea birds, bald eagles, seals, sea-lions, and amazing wild flowers.
Your host at Alaska Peak and Seas: Mark Galla, Captain and Guide. Mark has lived in Alaska for over 50 years. He is a year round resident who has been professionally guiding visitors in the Wrangell area since 1987. He's spent his entire life enjoying the Alaskan outdoors with his family and friends. He is always enthusiastic to show guests these amazing places! A word from Mark, "We have 4 of our own children so we fully understand how expensive it can be for families & do our best to see that the little ones are not left behind. It is the young people more than others that we need to make sure are allowed to experience & see what this amazing planet has to offer in regards to wild places. They are after all our future & the ones that are going to continue on & hopefully appreciate & help preserve these places for their children. By making it difficult for families to access these wild places, we are doing them & ourselves a disservice."
Fly-fishing experience at Alaska Peak and Seas: All Stikine river tours are by jet boat. This is an incredibly scenic & exhilarating jet boat ride up the Stikine & thru a number of small sloughs (narrow side channels) branching from the main river. The Stikine River originates some 400 miles from Wrangell, in British Columbia. It is the fastest flowing, navigable river in North America and hosts the largest springtime concentration of bald eagles in North America. Over 50 glaciers feed the Stikine, and two natural hot springs. The Stikine is also host to many types of spawning salmon as well as trout and char. The Stikine has a rich history as it served as an important trade route between what is now the United States and Canada; and later hosted many fortune-seeking miners in search of gold in the 1800’s. All 5 species of pacific salmon spawn in this river as well as cutthroat & rainbow trout, steelhead, dolly varden, whitefish & others. Click here for quick link country guide.
